Man, I can relate to a lot of different aspects of this. Really needed to see this right now.

Love it, Daniel. May we all grow while holding our former selves with immense grace.

Great thoughts Daniel.

The older I get, the more I realize I don't have it all figured out.

I was once that "certain" young man with my reading reference book that my church gave me. It answered all the questions that you would face: alcohol, denominations, and dancing! That book was well intentioned, but man, did it take passages out of context! ha!

Amen, brother! Not only could we both be wrong but we won’t know for sure until we’re not here anymore so what’s the point of arguing?

Daniel, I agree with so many of your reflective points looking back on your experiences.

And your use of the Lead comment was one I used in conversation with a church of Christ minister in Anaheim California in 1973. He admitted that if I was wrong on instrumental music in worship and was in a potentially vad place, he admitted he too might be in that same precarious position.

I then invited him to speak to an adult VBS meeting I organized for several weeks that summer. He accepted and based his message on the assigned passage of Colossians 3:16.

We sang unaccompanied to not put a stumbling block in his way.

I hear you trying to be like that. No cause for stumbling.

Just be careful attributing to ideas that sound " Nice " that they are from "the Holy Spirit".

Your experience with the doctrines of sound thinking and what you think is harsh from your prior presentations may only be reactions to your lack of love at that time.

Everyone who testified to God's glory in the New Testament and brought a smoothing sandpaper message was hard on those who needed to turn to God. Not to men ir men's additional messages. Known as dogmas.

Keep looking to improve yourself. But don't compromise the Truth.

We don't need anymore Andy Stanley's abandoning faith for social/cultural/emotional teaching.

Biblical ignorance and ego is the stumbling block. Not consuming and sharing the precious Jesus and all his words. He is the Word of God and all those other words in the Bible are from Him.
