Congrats on grad school! I have a question that you’ve probably covered somewhere before and if so, please let me know and I’ll read the article. What do you think happens to the souls of people who don’t decide to follow Christ?

That's a good question. While I have articles on this subject I'm sure, I have become less sure of the position I've held for years. I was raised to believe Eternal Conscience Torment, but I couldn't reconcile that view with the love of God, so I adopted annihilation or conditional immortality. This view answered satisfied me for awhile, but there are things about it that just don't sit right with me, such as what to do with those who have never heard.

Currently, I don't have a clear view of what exactly happens to these souls after death, but if Christ could preach to the souls in prison who were disobedient in the day of Noah, I think it possible that God extends them the same opportunity in the afterlife. I'm still formulating my thoughts on this complicated subject, but I found C. S. Lewis's extended parable "The Great Divorce" both challenging and comforting.

Thanks. I’ll read that by CS Lewis.

Condemn is used in the GNV. That's the original U. S. Bible. The one that King James demanded to be destroyed when he made his version. KJV bless it. I like occasionally reading the Geneva Bible and seeing how it correlates with the modern translations.
