Good food for thought, Daniel! We all create narratives to make sense of the relational discord and disconnections around us. Some of us try harder than others to reconcile these differences and find a common ground. The story I currently tell myself is that what God values most is the striving towards that authentic sharing and fellowship. I'm not sure if the true actualizing of it is even possible on this side of eternity, because of are inherently different perceptions,... which is why the exercise of agape is so necessary in order to make any headway.
More unfiltered Daniel, please!!
We call him “Canada Daniel,” and he’s here to stay :)
I love Canada Daniel!!
It strikes me that in that last section you just described the coming out process.
I thought about that too I was originally writing the journal.

Thanks so much. Thomas Merton in “New Seeds of Contemplation” argued something similar. What God really desires from us is our desire to love.
