I love that poem. Mary, as usual, shows us that the gateway to knowing is listening, seeing, witnessing and wonder. Those things teach more than a whole dang Wikipedia entry ever could.
Excellent entry, Daniel. I sometimes find myself trying to look things up or even pull out my phone to capture an experience, like a sunset. But I almost always stop myself because doing so would keep me from being present and truly taking it in.
I enjoy your thought provoking thoughts. I also enjoy trying to place history into neat compact specific points in time but if I was to try and categorize my last year it would be far more poetic to lump it into one spoken story than bullets on a written page. My goal for the coming years is to slow down and enjoy every second of this gift.
