Truth and Reconciliation Learning Tour
some thoughts on how debate distracts us from justice
Over the last couple of weeks, I was in Winnipeg, Canada to learn about the atrocities committed by the colonizing forces in dealing with their indigenous brothers and sisters.
We toured a residential school, spoke to survivors of schools and the 60s scoop, and witnessed untold pain and suffering. It was a transformative experience filled with anger, tears, and even a bit of laughter. We heard stories about sacred traditions, the beauty of the Creator, and the importance of community.
In this podcast, I talk about how religious debate can function as a helpful distraction from dealing with injustices right outside our door. Then, I talk about my experience on the learning tour and share just a few stories I can bear to share at this time.

Love you friend! Thank you for sharing your processing on this.
My brother. Thank you for this. Have you ever connected this to that verse someplace in Paul’s writings where it talks about service to those in need as “your spiritual act of worship”?
