The Land Promise: Has Abraham Sat Down in the Kingdom?

The arrival of the kingdom is synonymous with the arrival of the New Jerusalem and the Heavenly Country (Hebrews 12:29). That is not to deny the "already" of the kingdom and the new creation (Colossians 1:13; 2 Corinthians 5:17). Jesus tells us, however, that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob would enter the kingdom when the unbelieving Jews would be cast out (Matthew 8:10-12). This means that the arrival of the New Jerusalem and the fulfillment of the heavenly land promises were at the fall of Jerusalem when she was judged for persecuting the saints (Matthew 23:29-39).
