"The Day Has Begun"
a poem on unity
I know division cannot last, And we, unable to see the way, Must remember that in ages past Differences were still held fast— Unity postponed until our day. "Our time’s sun is almost set," Will true peace be yet forestalled, Or will we our courage finally get, And go “all in”—one final bet— To ready a table for one and all? The few who boldly try to move Are thus far shunned by silent many; Their voices strong doth yet prove One loving march can cut a groove, And scarcity give way to plenty. I long to see us all as one To welcome each with no pretense; Since we are not division’s son, Let's boldly sing, “The day has begun” And perhaps now make a difference.
“The night is almost gone, and the day is near.” - St. Paul
“The darkness is passing away, and the true Light is already shining.” - St. John
