Revelation and the New Exodus: The Three Cities

Israel was meant to be an instrument of God’s righteousness and justice. In Genesis 12, God promised Abraham that he would be a blessing. In Genesis 18, He told him that he was selected to keep the way of the Lord by doing justice and righteousness.

For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.

Genesis 18:19

Solomon was told the same thing by the Queen of Sheba (1 Kings 10:8). But he turned Israel into the new Egypt. Israel has become the very thing from which she was saved.
