This year I had the privilege of playing mandolin as part of the “main event” at a bluegrass music festival. My teacher, Gary Waldrep, invited me to play with his family along with another student, my friend Audrey, at a festival on his family’s farm.

I had to practice a lot to learn the songs, musical intros, and breaks (or solos), but it was well worth it. Over the last week since the festival, I’ve been playing mandolin everyday to unwind. I’ve learned a few songs and touched up on a lot as well.

I just love music.

Bible Classes

First, let’s talk Bible classes. Right now, I’m teaching two Bible classes that are being recored. The first is on the Minor Prophets. We are about four weeks into a two week overview of Hosea, and it looks like we have two weeks to go…at the least.

Next up there is a Tuesday morning class on Daniel. This class has about a third of the attendees, maybe even less, so we take the time to go a bit slower and really try to dig deep into the text. We are currently in Daniel 2.

Podcast Interviews

I also have been posting podcast interviews every Thursday for the past thirteen weeks. This most previous interview was with my friend Aram Mitchell. I know some of you know Aram from a previous interview, but you might also know him from our time together in Montreat, North Carolina.
