What an exciting year it has been so far! This year I've had the opportunity to meet and study with Sam Dawson and Dr. Dallas Burdette, attend two debates, fill in for Dr. Don Preston on morning musings, start a podcast entitled Face to Face, and next week I get to speak at Preterist Pilgrim Weekend. Not only that, but there is another lectureship coming up in August at the Ludington church of Christ and one in Memphis, TN later in the year!
Personal Update
Yesterday, my wife and I spent the day celebrating two years of marriage. Without her I do not believe I could be where I am today. I can only hope that I was as much help for her as she was for me during the time when we were "withdrawn from" (i.e. excommunicated/ shunned/ etc.) by our own family and church family where I was a full time minister. She was also a great source of comfort for me when a letter was sent out to the area churches "marking" me as one who left the "faithful truth." Yesterday was not only a celebration of two years of marriage, but it was a celebration of what all God has done for us in this difficult time in our lives. Fortunately, as you can see above, God has smiled upon us, and He has opened so many doors for us that we never believed possible.
While things are definitely looking good spiritually, financially things have taken a small turn for the worse. Since January, I've had a job working from home, but I recently have been "down-sized" due to the company restructuring itself. I have severance pay until the end of July, but I'm going to find some other mode of secular work before then. There are several possibilities, but most of them will take me away from my ability to post any sort of regular content. All that we ask is that you pray for us to find some source of income that will support our needs and allow us to continue to minister and produce content for you.
Website Update
I appreciate you subscribing to this e-mail list. Unfortunately, only certain posts get sent to this list, so I wanted to inform you of the page podcast archives. I currently have two types of audios being posted there: 1) The weekly Face to Face podcast and 2) a point by point review of the Hester-Preston debate. Not only can these audios be found at the links above, but you can also subscribe to the podcast via iTunes. Most of these audios are around one-hour long, but I hope that the hour will go by fast and that you'll learn a lot along the way. If you click on some of the audio links, you will find additional materials available such as articles, PowerPoints, and sometimes outlines. I hope that those free resources are helpful for you.
That is all I have for now. I hope to meet some of you at PPW next week, and I look forward to meeting the rest of you some other time! I hope that the Lord blesses each one of you.
