Hey everybody.
So I’m in graduate school, and it costs money, so I thought of a couple of ideas to try and raise some money for my studies.
Graduate school costs around $4,000 USD a semester plus travel expenses and books, so we’re talking about $4,500 or so a semester—I was able to get cheaper flights this time around.
I don’t make a lot of money from Substack. Right now I have around 36 paid subscribers, which grosses $2,400 a year—Substack takes a chunk of that for hosting the content.
So I need a way to raise support for the fall semester while still feeling like there is an even exchange.
That brings me to my idea, and I’d like your feedback on it.
What would you pay for a verse by verse audiobook on a book of the Bible? The books of the Bible vary greatly in length, so let’s just say we did a New Testament epistle that’s around 4-6 chapters long.
What would that be worth to you?
A followup question: if that sounds like something you’d purchase, which book around this length would you like me to do?
You can tell me privately, or you can leave a comment here.
This semester, I’ll be taking the following classes:
Paul’s Epistles in Patristic Theology
Self-Awareness and Counseling
Contemplative Spirutal Formation II
Ancient Insights for Today II
In Quest of 'the Good': Charles Taylor & Hannah Arendt
